  • Play

    to play with purpose
Play is one of the first gifts children are given at The Preschool. Evidence-based studies show children live out their learning through engagement and opportunities for intentional play. A specifically crafted play-based curriculum, led with the love and knowledge of experienced teachers, is the impetus of discovery and the foundation for higher learning.
  • Grow

to grow in character and impact
The Preschool nurtures a community of children who learn to question, build, and grow in their faith, friendships, knowledge, and understanding. Here, children receive support as they develop a healthy awareness of self-respect and self-esteem. Children experience guidance as they meet their world with an age-appropriate recognition of both challenge and inspiration. As we strive towards a goal of outward impact, we welcome, allow, and release children to realize their full potential as they find their individual place in the world.
  • Love

    to love learning
Preserving the innocence and wonder of childhood is not only beneficial and beautiful, but it's also respected. A love of learning happens at The Preschool because children are celebrated. They are encouraged to develop character, strength, and motivation to acquire new skills to build upon what they already possess. In this environment of inclusion and acceptance, each child's voice is valued. The Preschool's balanced approach to learning provides both the structure and the freedom necessary to inspire students toward active learning and to empower them to understand their feelings and themselves.
  • Think

    to think critically and well
Learning is more than just skill mastery; it’s developing the ability to think with mindfulness, truth, creativity, and confidence. Learning to think challenges young children to question, predict, hypothesize, and interpret. This skill needs to be supported and nurtured, and at The Preschool, children are invited to think, feel, believe and realize their true learning potential.
  • Engage

to engage the whole child and establish foundations
Research shows that the years of early learning are critical to all human growth and development. Personality and skills are encouraged during a series of stages which have an astonishing impact across the lifespan. During these years children create a sense of trust, autonomy, initiative, and industry. Young children who are supported and nurtured as a whole child will be given a solid footing for higher, lifelong academics and social wisdom.
  • Create

to create a relevant and intentional educational community
At the Preschool, we recognize how vital the school, home, and community environments are to the development of each child's natural curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. One of the most authentic ways to advance student development academically and socially is through a partnership that endorses the family/school bond; where the classroom is an extension of home and where teachers are collaborators with caregivers in laying the scholastic foundation.

The Preschool’s curriculum continuously evolves to prepare students for success in the 21st century. Through our educator roles and responsibilities, aligned preparation and pathways, and supportive infrastructure, we have a shared accountability to the success of the whole child. By seeking to intentionally create a relevant educational community, we pledge to call ourselves to the highest standard so each student is given every opportunity to excel.
Located on PRUMC’s beautiful Buckhead campus, The Preschool is an independent, faith based school, for children 12 months through 6 years-old. We are committed to nurturing the whole child in preparation for the most distinguished public and private primary schools in Atlanta.
